What Praxis Notebooks is
Praxis Notebooks is a browser extension by Paracode that adds folders, tags and search to Google's NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook). It reads the list of notebooks shown on your NotebookLM page in order to display your folders and tags next to them. It never reads the contents of your notebooks, your sources or your chats, and it never sends any of that anywhere.
What we store
Without an account: nothing reaches us. Your folder names, tag names, colours, icons, library title, appearance settings and the notebook-to-folder assignments are stored in your browser (Chrome extension storage) and, if you have Chrome sync turned on, in your own Google Chrome profile. We cannot see any of it.
With a Praxis account (optional, Google sign-in): we store your Google account email, display name and profile picture, the date you created the account, your purchase status (free, trial or Pro), and a copy of the same organisation data listed above, so it survives reinstalling and follows you to other computers. Notebook entries are stored as NotebookLM's internal notebook identifiers plus your folder and tag choices; notebook titles are not stored in the cloud.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or crash reporters inside the extension.
Where it lives
Account data and cloud copies are stored in Google Firebase (United States) in a project operated by Paracode. Google processes this data under its standard data-protection terms, including the EU standard contractual clauses for transfers. Each account's data is private: only you, signed in with your Google account, can read or write it.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing address directly; we never see your card number. Paddle shares with us only what is needed to switch Pro on (a customer reference, your email and the purchase status).
What we do with it
We use your information only to run Praxis Notebooks for you: to sync your library, to know which plan you are on, and to answer your support requests. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train anything.
How long we keep it
Cloud data stays as long as your account exists. Backups on your own computer stay in your browser until you remove the extension. Paddle keeps invoicing records for as long as tax law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can use the extension without an account at all. You can download a full backup of your data from the extension at any time (Account panel → Download backup). You can delete your cloud data and account by emailing us; we complete deletion within 30 days and confirm by email. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK or another region with data-protection rights, you can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and show a notice inside the extension before the change takes effect.
